We love wood! And for good reason: wood is timeless and has a beautiful natural look. Every week the best dried wood comes in large quantities from our own drying machines. Before the wood is processed, it is first dried in various ovens at different temperatures so that the wood is virtually unprocessed. As soon as the beams arrive from the drying machines in our workshop, the production process of our tables starts.

The warm look of wood lends a very natural intimacy to your interior. Nouvion's rustic wood collection offers a wide range of oak and walnut that are lacquered or oiled to match the atmosphere of your home. In addition, you have the option of having the knots and cracks filled with a light or dark eco-filler or for a black or transparent epoxy resin.

A larger party? With the easy-to-assemble extension boards, you can extend your table by half a meter per side.The option of extension boards is available on almost all Nouvion tables, allowing you to easily extend your table by 50 cm with one extension board or even by 1 meter with two extension boards. With the easy assembly you quickly transform your table to the desired size for any company. Extension boards have the same shape as the table itself and are available on straight, organic and straight tapered tops and in combination with any table leg except the glass legs.

RUSTIC OR SMOOTH

If you want the rugged look of a rustic table but a completely smooth finish, you can choose Eco-fill or Epoxy fill in a variety of colors. Eco-filling or Epoxy filling is possible on every table top but not with every finish.

What you should know about wood

moisture content

Wood is a natural product. We use the highest quality wood for our furniture. The wood we use is sawn and dried with a moisture content of between 8% and 12%. This makes it suitable for use in a heated room.

imperfections

Every piece of wood is unique in structure, grain and colour. Cracks, small holes, unevenness and knots are natural properties of the wood. They characterise the authenticity of the wood. So these are not mistakes, but a specific characteristic that the wood has inherited from nature. They make each piece of furniture characteristic and unique.

A limited warranty applies to the wooden components of our furniture. The guarantee is on production faults. We do not provide a guarantee on the warping of wood, as this is not a fault in the product but a characteristic of the material. We provide further information on this later.

operation

You have probably heard it before: wood works. Working' includes the expansion, contraction, cracking and/or warping of wood. Wood absorbs and releases moisture. The extent to which this happens depends, among other things, on temperature differences and the air humidity in the environment. The level of humidity is important for the extent to which wooden parts of your furniture work.

Wood will work much less if the air humidity in the room remains at a fairly constant level. We recommend an almost constant humidity level between 50% and 60% with a 10% decrease in winter and a 10% increase in summer. This is for both you and your wooden furniture a healthy living environment.

The best way to measure humidity is to use a hygrometer. Place it at eye level, away from drafts and sunlight. If the humidity is too low, you can place a humidifier or hang filled water trays on the radiator. The evaporation of the water will increase the humidity. If the humidity is too high, you can use an air conditioner. You can also place a dehumidifier or moisture absorber. It is also wise to regularly air your house by opening a door or window. This is not only a good idea for your furniture, but also for you.
